Biography

After re-locating to Seattle in the summer of 1998, Windowpane recorded and released its first full length record "Anyone and Everyone". Roughly one year later the band re-entered the studio to record their 5 song follow up EP "The Index Sessions". This new EP landed them the number one song on Garageband.com, a spot which the band held for 8 weeks. This song was the straight ahead rocker, "Stretch". The band also held slots three and five on the garageband charts with "Disarray" and "Matchless". This led to increased interest in the band and helped them move impressive numbers of the Index Sessions release through local retailers and live shows.

After the departure of drummer Brian Muir in early 2000, veteran Seattle drummer Mike Echternkamp joined the band and helped renew their creative spark. Newer material such as "The Morning" and "Some Reward" were milestones in the bands creative growth. The new rhythm section of Harris and Echternkamp realigned the band toward groove laden riff and hook driven material and even more explosive live performances.

In the fall of 2000 Windowpane's Index session demo, as well as increasing local talk of the group, sparked the interest of veteran producer and engineer Brett Eliason. Brett's background includes extensive work with Pearl Jam in the live arena as well as Production credits ranging from Neil Young to Mad Season. The group entered the studio with Brett in September and the resulting demo proved to be the most rewarding recording of the band to date. "We've never had this quality of material before.. and working with Brett was like working with a family member.. we gelled so well musically and creatively...it was a fantastic experience
