If one thing's for certain about The Warlocks, it's that you never really know what to expect to hear on their new albums. Never known for being musically consistent, Heavy Deavy Skull Lover finds the band drifting off into space—almost literally. Paired down a few members, gone are most of the melodies and dual drummer driving beats. What’s left remaining is a musician’s view of pure neo-psych music; made by and for the artists' sake. Think sprawling and moping lullabies performed by introspective, indie-goth shoegazers. In the end, it's worth the trip - Geoffrey Stephenson
