Spot Barnett and FriendsBiographySpot Barnett, the Legendary Texas Saxophonist. From 1950 to 2006 Spot Barnett is still playing, now with The West Side Horns of San Antonio. In the 60's Spot Barnett gained renown as the band leader at San Antonio's Ebony Club; where he achieved hit's with compositions such as "Ebony Wobble, The Pony Race, Black Cherry and 20th Century" Spot Barnett played with many notable bands in San Antonio such as Doug Sahm, The Texas Tornado's, Flaco Jimenez and Augie Meyers. Toured with such artist as Ike and Tina Turner, Sam And Dave, and with Bobby Bland. Spot Barnett is revered for his exceptional talent and his longtime contribution to music, as saxaphonist, band leader, composer and his long legacy as a Musician. |
