Eighty Times SimplifiedBiographyEighty Times Simplified is an indie rock trio consisting of Josh "freakin' genius" Lennox (22) on guitar and lead vocals, "Devious" Derek Soholt (23) on drums and Kyle "the technicator" McGuire on bass. Kyle and Josh began playing together covering Beastie Boys and Nirvana tunes for the entertainment of their high school cross-country team. With high school behind them and realizing that they were on the same wavelength musically, Josh asked Kyle if he would be interested in playing the songs that constantly played in his head. Kyle agreed that a band was an excellent idea and they recruited Derek, a high school friend and Josh's cousin. During their first practice the band realized they had something special. With influences ranging from Nirvana to The Supremes, their songs combine a unique mix of punk rock and catchy pop melodies. Eighty Times Simplified has recently been featured on the South Sound music television show "This Ain't Karaoke" (channel 29/76), and just finished recording their first full length album "Going Nowhere Fast" which was released November 30th, 2003. With their own style of semi-melodic postmodern rock, Eighty Times Simplified takes the cake and smashes it all over the floor! |
